New online portal launches to link residents to council services

There’s a new way to interact with Dudley Council thanks to the launch of a new, easy to use online platform.

MyDudley allows residents to access a whole host of council services at the click of a button, whenever suits them.

With a MyDudley account people complete a simple online form with their query or request. This goes directly to the service area to be actioned, keeping users up to date as their query progresses.

MyDudley can be accessed via smartphone, tablet or home computer. People can:

  • Report anti-social behaviour
  • View their council tax statement
  • Book an appointment at the recycling centre
  • Order copies of certificates for births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships
  • Report a missed bin collection
  • Order a replacement bin

Setting up an account is simple – it just needs a name, post code and email address. Once an account has been created, people can track the progress of their enquiry.

Residents can still report issues without an account, but they won’t be kept up to date with its progress. People who prefer to speak to someone over the phone and in person at Dudley Council Plus can still do so, MyDudley just allows people to report issues at a time that suits them. Councillor Phil Atkins, cabinet member for corporate strategy, said:

“MyDudley is an effective, convenient way to access services from Dudley Council.

“Whether you want to pay a bill or report a faulty streetlight, it’s quick and easy with MyDudley, and you’ll have the full confidence that you are dealing with Dudley Council direct.

“You will still be able to talk face-to-face at Dudley Council Plus or over the phone with a customer service advisor if that is what you prefer, but MyDudley will allow you to report issues 24/7, 365 days a year.”
