NHS Trust seeks Hospital Volunteers

The Dudley Group of Hospitals is looking for enthusiastic and passionate people to join its team of hospital volunteers.

A Volunteer Open Day is being held at Russells Hall Hospital on Monday June 6th for anyone interested in volunteering with the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust.

The event, taking place as part of National Volunteers’ Week, will start at 10am in the lecture theatre at the Dudley hospital and will be hosted by chief executive Paula Clark and chief nurse Dawn Wardell.

Those attending will have chance to speak to some of the trust’s 400 volunteers and hear from staff members about the input volunteers make by providing hot drinks to patients, helping out at meal times and making sure people can find their way to appointments at the trust’s three hospitals.

Trust chief executive Ms Clark said: “Our volunteers kindly give up their own time for us and the work they do in many different areas across the trust really is invaluable and greatly appreciated.

“Anyone over the age of 16 who would like to make a difference in Dudley can apply to become a volunteer at the trust, whether they can spare a few hours a week around existing commitments or want to give their time more regularly, we’d love to hear from them.”

Anyone wishing to attend can book a place by calling 01384 456111 extension 1064, or email communications@dgh.nhs.uk
