An Oldbury teenager is one of two who’ve been found guilty of murdering a young Polish man and leaving his friend seriously injured in an unprovoked attack in Birmingham.

18 year old Abdullah Atiqzoy and Sadam Essakhil aged 16 assaulted Lukasz Furmanek and Joseph Dudek as they walked along Grove Lane, Handsworth in May this year.

Both men were stabbed several times, 24 year-old Lukasz dying of his injuries.
Atiqzoy, an Afghan national from Elizabeth Street, Oldbury was arrested in Kent attempting to escape the country. Essakhil, from Small Heath handed himself into police in Belgium.

A third man, Feizullah Atiqzoy, was found guilty of helping an offender. All three will be sentenced in January.
