Online petition demands justice for Ryan

Family and friends of Ryan Passey, who was stabbed to death at a Stourbridge nightclub, have launched an online petition calling for a change in the law.

Started by Jason Connon, the Respect for Ryan campaign is a bid to overturn what they call "one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in modern times".

24-year-old Ryan died after he was stabbed at the former Chicago's nightclub last August - the club has since ceased trading.

Dudley teenager Kobe Murray admitted stabbing Ryan during a trial in February, but he walked free after the jury decided he was not guilty of murder or manslaughter.

The campaign, which has over 9,000 signatures to date, is demanding a change in the law to give families of the victims of serious crime the right to challenge and appeal so-called 'perverse verdicts'.
