More than 90 residents took part in a community fun run at Swan Pool Park in Stourbridge.
The event, dubbed the Spring into Stourbridge Race, was held on Saturday 28 March, with 91 runners recording an official time and others joining to walk the course.
The race was organised by the reformed Friends of Swan Pool Park group.
Chair of the group, Lois Bramall, said: “We are grateful to the Mayor of Dudley, Cllr Pete Lee, who fired the starting pistol for the race and stayed to cheer on runners.
"The Spring into Stourbridge Race was a huge success, and we are keen to welcome new people to get involved.
“Following the announcement of funding from Dudley Council, the Friends group has identified several improvements we would like to make in Swan Pool Park, including enhancements to the pathway and children’s playground.”
Participants tackled an undulating cross-country course around the park, with the fastest time recorded by Rob Clark, who completed the circuit in 27 minutes and 21 seconds.
The route was devised by local runner and businessman David Sheppard, alongside volunteer Bob Hopkins.
David Sheppard said: “It was a lot of fun organising the run, and we learned a great deal about managing large-scale events.
"We would like to thank the local police team for their support, as well as St John Ambulance, who fortunately did not need to attend to any injuries.
"We are also grateful to everyone who took part and helped minimise any parking concerns.”
Looking ahead, the group hopes the event could become a regular fixture.
