Penkridge Childrens Market to become twice-yearly event

Penkridge Market have announced that their new Children’s Market will be a bi-annual event, held twice a year in April and September.

The new event, which was held for the first time in April 2017, proved so popular with the public, the owners have now decided to hold it twice a year, the first of which will be on the 15th April.

The Market, which will be entirely dedicated to children, features stall holders selling everything from nearly new children’s clothes to toys and handmade crafts. There will also be plenty of activities to keep the children amused, including a petting farm, fairground rides and a puppet theatre.

The event will run from 10am to 3pm, and with free admission for children and only £2 for adults, it’s a fantastic value day out for all the family. Kate Kingsley, who was the brain child behind the event said:

“We were absolutely overwhelmed and delighted by the response we had to the event last year, so made the decision to turn it into a bi-annual event. Thousands of people attended and everyone seemed to really enjoy the day.

"Not only could parents find great products at amazing prices, but there was plenty to keep the children entertained as well, so it felt more like a fun day out, rather than dragging the kids around the shops. I think anything that makes parents lives easier is much appreciated.”

Kate is anticipating there will be over 60 stall holders, selling a variety of goods from clothes, toys and books to unique personalised hand-print jewellery and handmade wooden toys. The majority of stalls will be undercover in the indoor market, making it a great day out whatever the weather.

There will also be plenty to keep the children entertained, with a bouncy castle, mini land rover rides and petting farm. Children will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, as well as meet rabbits, llamas and donkeys. There will also be a free craft area, where children can have a go at colouring in and making their own puppets to use in the Market’s very own puppet theatre.

Local children’s clubs, groups and organisations will also be attending, so that families can find out more information about the services available in the local area.
