A person has died after being struck by a train at Stourbridge Junction station this morning.
Services running through the station were suspended while ambulance crews and West Midlands Police attended the scene. A spokesman for British Transport Police said:
"Officers were called to Stourbridge Junction station at 11.11am this morning following reports a person had been struck by a train. Paramedics were also in attendance and sadly a person was pronounced dead.
"Officers are working to identify the person and inform their family."
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer and a rapid response paramedic to the scene. A spokesman for the Trust added:
“On arrival, crews discovered a patient who had suffered multiple serious injuries in the incident. Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save them and they were confirmed dead at the scene.”
