Play area plans for Himley Park

People are being asked for their thoughts on proposals for a children’s play area at Himley Hall and Park.

Although the grounds are extremely popular with families, the park does not have a dedicated area for children. The council has launched a consultation to ask people for their thoughts on the introduction of a bespoke play area. Councillor Simon Phipps, cabinet member for regeneration and enterprise, said:

"Himley is held in great affection locally, the perfect location for family walks, picnics and games of hide and seek. Countless generations of children have learnt to ride their bikes along its main drive and just simply enjoyed the scale and variety of its green space.

"A play area would provide a safe, outdoor space for children to explore and add to the wealth of activities Himley already offers. Really, it’s all about having fun at the park and I would urge anyone who uses the park to take part in the short online survey."

The survey is live at dudley.gov.uk - just search 'Himley play area' - and people have until 3 October to contribute.
