Detectives investigating a fatal road traffic collision are appealing for the public’s help in locating a second vehicle.
Liam Ball, 17, was tragically killed when the car he was a passenger in hit parked vehicles on Weston Street, Walsall, on Thursday 2 August.
A 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.
However police are now asking for help to locate a second vehicle, a Volkswagen Touran, with registration number AP05 CZO, which is believed to have been involved in the circumstances leading up to the collision. Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:
“This is an important line of enquiry and it is believed that the driver of this car may have vital information around the events that led to the fatal collision.
“I know the car regularly travelled around Caldmore and the wider Walsall area. It is possible that it is parked up in a garage, has been sold on or scrapped. I would appeal for anyone with any information or who recognises this car, to contact us.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting log 36 of 2nd August.
