Police arrest two men on suspicion of murder

Detectives investigating the death of a man from Walsall have arrested two men on suspicion of murder.

The two men, aged 21, were arrested in the early hours of this morning (Friday 24 August) from separate addresses in Walsall.

The 39-year-old man who was found at a flat on Bloxwich Road South on Wednesday has been named as Kevin Shepperson. Officers were called just before 12.30pm by ambulance colleagues who had been alerted by a member of the public. Mr Shepperson had sustained serious injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A post mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow.

The address remains cordoned off while forensic experts examine the scene. Detective Chief Inspector Paul Joyce, from the force’s Homicide Unit, said:

"Our investigation is moving swiftly and although we have made arrests, we are still keen to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious.

“Every bit of information is vital to our investigation and I would urge anyone who can help to contact me or my team on 101. We have specialist officers with Mr Sheppherson’s family as they try to come to terms with their loss. Our thoughts remain with them at this time."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Team on 101 quoting log number 1058 of 22/08/18.

Information can also be given to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
