West Midlands Police seized drugs and weapons, made arrests and looked to address issues which matter to the public during an all-out-day in Sandwell.

Sandwell teams were supported by extra resources from across the force during Operation Advance. The Police targeted issues of concern such as serious youth violence, anti-social behaviour and drug networks.

Working alongside a range of partners they carried out targeted activity which included operations against off-road bikes, drug warrants, raids on shops suspected of illegal selling; while there was a knife arch along with increased patrols in the town centre.

Intelligence was acted on and a warrant was executed at premises in New Street, West Bromwich, where a baton and knuckle duster was seized. Enquiries are ongoing.

Overall they made 17 arrests for offences ranging from robbery and possessing drugs with intent to supply to theft and driving offences.
