Police searching for offenders who attacked Halesowen Grandmother

Dudley Police are appealing for information after a 78 year-old woman was pinned to the floor and robbed in her Halesowen home.

A group of three men barged their way in and one, wearing a glove, held his hand over the mouth of Joyce Bennett. The others then searched the property in Springfield Drive and then made off with a quantity of cash, a handbag and purses.

The Grandmother of four was taken to hospital with a fractured arm following the robbery, which happened at around 9.25pm last Wednesday.

Relatives of the former carer and health administrator, have made a plea for information to catch those responsible. The offenders are believed to be in their 20s and had local accents.

A spokesperson said "We are trawling through CCTV and carried out door to door enquiries; while patrols have been stepped up to reassure the community.

"We are following a number of lines of enquiry and would ask anyone who may have seen or heard anything to call us on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111".
