Police are investigating after a man was rushed to hospital with head injuries after an assault in Lye last night.

A 58-year-old man, was injured in the incident which saw the High Street closed and traffic diverted at around 9.30pm.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and enquiries are under way to trace the suspect, who is believed to be known to the victim.
