Pop-up vaccination clinics open across Dudley borough

Pop-up COVID-19 and flu vaccination and conversation clinics are being introduced in Dudley borough in the run-up to Christmas.

Dudley Council is working with the Black Country Integrated Care Board to host the clinics at a range of locations in the Dudley borough, with no appointment necessary.

Anyone aged 18 and over who is eligible for a first, second or booster dose is encouraged to attend to have the vaccine, or to chat with the pharmacy staff, with no pressure to have it.

Free flu vaccinations are also available for people who are aged over 50, pregnant, or have certain long-term health conditions like respiratory diseases, diabetes or a weakened immune system.

Residents who are unsure whether to get the vaccine can ask questions and decide what is best for them. Councillor Ian Bevan, cabinet member for public health, said:

“These pop-up clinics are friendly, pressure-free spaces where people can get all the facts about the COVID-19 and flu vaccines. Residents who are yet to get vaccinated can be assured that it’s never too late to have your first dose.

“Taking this small step will help to reduce the risk of serious illness from COVID-19 and flu while helping to protect your friends and family.”

The clinics will be running until the end of March 2023 on every Friday from 9am to 1pm in the marketplace at Dudley town centre, every Friday from 2pm to 6pm in Lye town centre by the war memorial, and every other Saturday from 9am to 1pm at the Moor Centre in Brierley Hill.

The next dates for each clinic are Friday 16 December in Dudley and Lye, and Saturday 24 December in Brierley Hill.

In addition to the pop-up clinics, COVID-19 vaccinations are available at a number of community pharmacies and other vaccine sites across the Black Country. You can find your nearest site or book online via the National Booking System, or by calling 119.
