Porsche hits nursery wall in Quinton

Two drivers had a lucky escape following a crash in Quinton in which a Porsche hit a nursery wall.

Paramedics and police were called to Hagley Road West at around 10.45am on Wednesday morning after the accident which also involved two vans.

One person was taken to hospital after the crash, which saw the Porsche hit a wall belonging to Happy Days Nursery. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said:

“When crew arrived they found a white panel van was significant damage to the front passenger side. Close by a Porsche Cayenne was resting against the wall of the nursery and a second panel van. It had very substantial front end damage.

“The driver of the first van, a 63-year-old man, was complaining of rib and seatbelt pain. He had been able to get out of vehicle himself. After an assessment and pain relief at the scene, he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham as a precaution."

They added: “The 22-year-old man driving the Porsche had some minor seatbelt pain. He didn’t want pain relief or to go to hospital so was discharged with advice.

“There were no casualties within the nursery. A man in his 60s has been taken to hospital. There have been no arrests.”
