Public urged to take a tour of Himley Hall

Visitors are being given the chance to learn more about the history of Himley Hall by joining a guided tour.

Staff at the historic Dudley stately home are opening the doors to the public and hosting a number of evening tours throughout July and August.

The tours will last for approximately one hour and will be followed by tea, coffee and homemade biscuits.

The tours will start at 7.15pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday 5 July; Tuesday 11 July; Wednesday 12 July; Wednesday 19 July; Thursday 20 July; Tuesday 25 July and Wednesday 26 July.

They will also be running in August, also at 7.15pm and 7.30pm, on Tuesday 1 August; Tuesday 8 August; Wednesday 9 August; Thursday 17 August; Wednesday 23 August and Wednesday 30 August. Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member for planning and economic development, said:

“Himley Hall is a beautiful stately home with a very rich and varied history.

“This is a rare chance to find out a bit more about what is behind the doors with the benefit of an experienced and knowledgeable guide, and we would urge people to book.”

The tours cost £7.50 per person and there are limited places, so booking is essential.
