Roundabout given colourful revamp as Sedgley prepares for Games

Sedgley Bull Ring’s roundabout has been given a vibrant makeover ahead of the Commonwealth Games next month.

Bright red, pink and white flowers have been planted on the roundabout to bring a patriotic feeling to the Bull Ring when Team England go for gold in the Commonwealth Games cycling time trials on Thursday 4 August.

The time trial routes enter Dudley borough for the first time as they head into Sedgley from Wolverhampton. Racers will sprint through the town centre at high speed in one of the most exhilarating sections of the course. Councillor Shaz Saleem, cabinet member for highways and public realm, said:

"Dudley borough is going to be in front of a massive worldwide audience during the Commonwealth Games cycling time trials. We want our public spaces to look at their best for this once-in-a-lifetime sporting occasion.

"The green care team have done a magnificent job to bring a touch of colour to the roundabout in the Sedgley Bull Ring and I’m very grateful for their hard work."
