Sedgley Pensioner Took His Own Life Inquest Is Told

A pensioner whose body was found in a fishing pool near to his Sedgley home committed suicide, an inquest has been told.

75 year-old William Jewkes, a steward at Upper Gornal Methodist Church, was last seen on Tuesday, November 22.  

Police launched an appeal to find him but the search came to a halt on Friday, November 25 when his body was discovered in the pool on Parkes Hall Road.

The Inquest, at Coroners Court in Oldbury, was told that Mr Jukes, had walking clothes on when he was found an a rucksack containing tiles, which would have weighed him down in the water.
