Stourbridge MP meets local girl guide

Stourbridge MP Suzanne Webb met up with a local girl guide who is raising funds to travel to a camp in Germany.

Ms Webb was visited by Zoe Yardley at her constituency office on Friday so the teenager could talk to her about the trip to Castle Rieneck in Bavaria and also Berlin.

Zoe, from Norton, is a Ranger member of Girlguiding Worcestershire and has been with the youth organisation for 12 years. She initially wrote to Suzanne explaining how much money she needed to raise and how Suzanne could help.

The 17-year-old needs to raise £1450 and is already £750 of the way there. Suzanne aid:

“It was lovely to meet up with Zoe – a young lady who is committed to girl guiding and who is busy raising funds for her trip.

“I am happy to support her and to hear about the trip that will enable her to gain confidence and resilience - all skills that will help in adult life. I am always happy to meet young people who are out there doing stuff and wanting to make a difference.”

People can donate to Zoe by cheque, which can be made payable to Worcestershire Guide Association care of: 21 Glebe Lane, Norton, Stourbridge, West Midlands DY8 3YG.
