Stourbridge MP to host Careers Fair for young people

Local MP and Business Minister, Margot James, will be hosting a Careers Fair on Thursday 30th November at the Glasshouse College in Stourbridge.

The evening is part of the MP’s ‘Raising Aspirations’ programme, which gives local young people the chance to participate in a series of workshops, seminars and networking fairs – all designed to inspire them to fulfil their potential.

The event will take place from 4:30pm to 6:00pm and will be a chance for students to network with a number of businesses and organisations, as well as attending workshops to help young people learn about CV building, interview skills and apprenticeships.

Businesses confirmed already include national companies such as Barclays, Jaguar Land Rover and Virgin Media, and more regional institutions, such as Dudley NHS Group, Dudley Council and West Midlands Ambulance Service. Speaking about the event, Margot said:

“My Aspirations programme is designed to give local students the chance to find out more information about education and career opportunities. Whether going to university, becoming an apprentice or training for a job, I want every young person in Stourbridge to fulfil their potential.

"I am very much looking forward to meeting local students and parents at this event, which I hope will be incredibly helpful for them.”

If you or your child would like to attend this event, please email Margot or phone the constituency office on 01384 370 574 to confirm your place. You can also find more information on Margot’s Facebook page.
