Stourbridge Operatic Society head back into the spotlight

Stourbridge Operatic Society will soon be ‘Back In The Spotlight’ at Stourbridge Town Hall with a concert of songs from the musicals on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 October.

Audiences can expect to hear some firm favourites from West End hits including Mary Poppins, Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera along with numbers from recent smash hits Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Dear Evan Hansen and SIX.

The theme of the concert is music from west end shows that had to close at the beginning of the first COVID lockdown. Director and choreographer Amy Williams said:

“We have all missed live performance so much over the past 18months and wanted to showcase all of the amazing West End shows that were so greatly missed when they closed abruptly last March.

"This brilliant mix of musicals really highlights the range and talent we have in Stourbridge and we’re so glad to be back on stage, having postponed our 2021 show Kinky Boots.

"It’s been wonderful to be back in the rehearsal room with friends and we cannot wait to share with you all of our hard work and all of the fun we’ve been having preparing for the show!”

Back In The Spotlight will showcase all of Stourbridge Operatic Society’s talent, with stunning soloists, energetic dance numbers and rousing ensemble singing. SAOS youth ensemble will also join the main company, taking centre stage for some family favourites from Matilda and School of Rock.

Tickets for the show, which plays at Stourbridge Town Hall on 22nd and 23rd October are £15.50 each and are available to book online
