Parents and staff at St James’s C of E Primary School are hosting a sponsored Fire Walk next month to help fundraise for new toilets.
The event, which takes place on Saturday 4th October, will see a variety of participants including parents, teaching assistants and even the local Vicar.
A spokesperson said: "There's no money in the budget to refurbish the Year 6 toilets, that are used by all pupils at lunchtimes, so our Parent, Teacher and Friend Association have taken on the challenge to fill up the coffers.
"Our children deserve good facilities in order to promote good learning. We shouldn't have to ask the community to pay for them, but these are the times we are in."
The volunteers will walk over 10 feet of embers, reaching up to 700°C. There will also be a Lego walk for the children to get involved with.
The event will run from 5:00pm to 7.30pm with the fire walk itself taking place at 6.45pm.
Anybody wishing to find out more, or to sponsor the participants, can contact the PTFA by email.
