Stourbridge tip to close earlier on Mondays

The borough tip in Stourbridge will close earlier on Mondays from October 1 as winter opening hours come into operation.

The site, off Birmingham Road, is open from 8am to 6pm on Monday this week. After that it will revert to winter opening hours and close at 4pm, with the change in place until the end of March next year.

Opening times will stay the same for all other days.

The tip is closed on Tuesdays, and open from 8am to 4pm Wednesday to Sunday. Slots still have to be booked online and attendance is by appointment only.

Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: “This is something we do every year as the nights start to draw in with winter just around the corner.

“I would urge people who have booked an appointment and then cannot attend to go online and cancel it, so we can offer it to someone else.”
