Take the plunge and learn to swim at Halesowen leisure centre

A special discounted course of adult swimming lessons starts at Halesowen Leisure Centre next month.

Lessons already run every Tuesday at the Dudley Council-owned site, costing £5.20 per lesson, with booking not required. But from Tuesday October 3rd, customers booking a course of six lessons will receive the last lesson free of charge.

The six-week course will run from October 3rd to November 7th inclusive and costs £26, working out at £4.33 per class - a saving of more than 15 per cent. A further 50 per cent discount is available to Options+ leisure discount holders.

There are two different classes, with a beginners class running from 7.15pm to 7.45pm and an improvers session from 7.45pm to 8.15pm. Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member for economic development, said:

“Swimming is a life skill that we feel everyone should be confident in and our experienced instructor is on hand to help beginners gain confidence and new skills in the water.

"We also welcome swimmers that want to improve their stroke technique or maybe just pick up a few tips from our instructor.”
