Teenager jailed following high speed police chase

A Quarry Bank teenager who drove into the path of a taxi during a high speed police chase, has been jailed for 16 months at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Liam Pether, of Coppice Lane, also drove on the wrong side of the road, went the wrong way around a traffic island and ran red lights during the pursuit through Netherton and Pedmore.

Following the chase, Pether abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, but was spotted by a police helicopter.

The 18 year-old, who was already on bail for raiding a house in Stourbridge, admitted burglary and dangerous driving. He was also disqualified from driving for 26 months.
