Stourbridge is set to sparkle for the town’s big Christmas lights switch-on this Saturday.

The event runs from 9:00am to 5:30pm with entertainment on the main stage by the town clock getting underway at 11:30am. Choirs, musicians and dance groups will be performing live throughout the afternoon.

The Black Country Radio stage in Ryemarket Square will also be showcasing local bands during a busy day of live entertainment.

Youngsters will be able to meet the Grinch in the Ryemarket in the afternoon and help the loveable festive villain discover his Christmas cheer before he switches on the lights at 5pm with the Deputy Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Andrea Goddard.

People will also be able to enjoy a Christmas craft and food market as well as children’s fairground rides in the town. Councillor Andrea Goddard, the Deputy Mayor of Dudley said:

“I’m really looking forward to joining The Grinch to light up Stourbridge this year.

”It would be great to see as many people as possible come and join in the festive fun as we celebrate the countdown to Christmas.”

Parking is free on council-owned car parks in the town on Saturday. Visit the MyDudley car parking page for locations.
