The West End and Broadway smash hit musical, starring Hayley Tamaddon, was due to play dates at Wolverhampton Grand at the end of June.

However, in a statement issued today, producers have said: 

"We are extremely sorry to have to announce the cancellation of the UK tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie. This has been caused by lower ticket sales than expected, which in turn has put the company producing the show  in financial difficulties and they are no longer able to continue with the tour.  

"The show was wonderful, and received excellent  reviews as it toured the UK, but sales were not strong enough to maintain the viability of the show.  Our hearts go out to the brilliant cast of the show, who sang and danced their hearts out all over the country.

Bosses at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre will contact customers as soon as possible to arrange refunds.
