Police have arrested three men after recovering drugs and a knife when officers acted upon suspicious activity in Dudley.
The Project Guardian team were on patrol when they spotted an interaction on a car park off Cross Walks, Lye, at around 9.15pm on 2nd February.
This led to officers stopping a vehicle where they recovered cannabis, cash, mobile phones and a knife. A subsequent search of a nearby storage unit led to suspected crack cocaine and more cannabis also being seized.
One man was aggressive towards officers as three people were detained.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A or B drugs, possession of an offensive weapon and assault on police.
Two men, aged 22 and 23 were also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A or B drugs and having an offensive weapon. They all remain in police custody for questioning.
A force spokesperson said: "Our Guardian taskforce play a vital role in reducing knife crime and serious youth violence across the West Midlands.
"The teams are involved in a range of tactics from plain-clothed operations to high visibility patrols.
"We’ve recently boosted the unit by creating an additional team of officers to monitor the streets, prevent violence and seize weapons and drugs across the region."
