Tickets Go On Sale For Mayors Charity Ball

There’s still time for people to help raise thousands of pounds for charity by buying their tickets to the Mayor of Dudley’s annual ball.

The ball takes place on March 24 and will see people from across the borough coming together to raise money for the three charities chosen by the Mayor. The evening, supported by A1 Rentals and Pro-tech Pavers, will also see the winners of the Mayor’s civic awards presented with their prizes.

There will be a three-course dinner as well as music, dancing and entertainment with all proceeds going to the Mayor’s charities - Friends of Alfie Johnson, Diabetes UK Dudley branch and Dudley CIL. Councillor Mohammed Hanif, Mayor of Dudley, said:

“The Mayor’s ball and civic awards is always a fantastic occasion. Not only do we highlight the work of some incredible people but we also raise thousands of pounds for charity.

“Last year we were able to raise almost £7,000 for five charities which is life-changing for the people they help. I hope people will buy a ticket and join us for a fantastic evening of entertainment, awards and charity.”

The Mayor’s Civic Awards will see the winners presented with handcrafted glass across six categories.

They are the Duncan Edwards award for sport, sponsored by Nordic Timber Buildings, the Cedric Hardwicke award for arts sponsored by GMB Union, the Frank Foley award for community spirit sponsored by Cushillo Personnel, the Thomas Attwood award for education which is sponsored by The School Travel Company, the Mike Holder award for business sponsored by Dudley College and the William Shenstone award for environment, sponsored by Jessup Brothers.

The winner of the Mayor’s award, who is chosen through an online public vote, also receives an exclusive piece of glass as part of the evening.

The ball takes place at Copthorne Hotel, Brierley Hill. Tickets cost £37 (plus a small booking fee) and are available online at or by calling 01384 81561.
