The YOU West Midlands Youth Award is open to children and young people up to the age of 18.
Nominations can be made at mayorofdudley.org.uk/youth-award and must be in by Sunday 22 March.
The winner will be announced and presented with the trophy at the Mayor’s Ball and Civic Awards, which take place at the Copthorne Hotel in Brierley Hill on Friday 17 April.
The award is in memory of former Dudley Youth Council chair and youth parliament member and volunteer Ben Corfield, who tragically lost his life in November 2022 aged just 19.
The award has been created by Youth Organisations in Uniform (YOU) West Midlands, in partnership with Dudley Council. YOU WM is a grouping of 11 local uniformed youth organisations supported by the West Midlands Lieutenancy and the West Midlands Reserve Force and Cadet Association who are working together to help give young people and potential adult volunteers new opportunities and to develop new skills.

“This award is a chance to shine a light on those unsung heroes who make a real difference in our communities.
”Ben Corfield embodied the very best of youth leadership and public service, and it is a privilege to honour his memory in this way.
“I urge everyone to take a moment to nominate a young person who deserves to be celebrated before the deadline.”
