Tipton residents reassured over Christmas light rumours

People in Tipton are being reassured that there will be a Christmas lights switch on and other festive events in the town this year.

Rumours have circulated that there will be no events in the town in the run up to Christmas. Tipton town lead Councillor Ann Jarvis said:

"We've got some really great ideas and lots of nice activities planned to celebrate Christmas and switching on the lights in Tipton this year. It's not true that there won't be a switch-on event - we're actually planning several events in the run up to Christmas!

"These events will be run by the neighbourhood office working with me and the deputy town lead, Councillor Bill Cherrington."

Cllr Cherrington added: "To clarify about the Tree of Light, that doesn't belong to the council it belongs to Tipton Civic Society.

"We want to put on a really good show for the people of Tipton this Christmas and we'll be sharing details of these events once we have firm plans."
