Top prizes up for grabs in MPs Christmas card competition

MP, Mike Wood has launched his annual Christmas Card Competition open to primary school children from across Kingswinford and South Staffordshire.

The winning design will be featured on Mike’s annual Christmas Card, which is sent to constituents, local businesses, colleagues in Westminster and His Majesty King Charles III.

The winner and runners up can also expect to receive fantastic prizes to some of the region’s top attractions, including Dudley Zoo, The Black Country Living Museum, West Midlands Safari Park and The Kingswood Trust.

Mike said: “With my competition now in its eleventh year, I’m really pleased to once again kick off this year’s festivities with my annual Christmas Card Competition.

“We are so lucky to have such artistic talent in Kingswinford & South Staffordshire, and I can’t wait to see the extent of creativity in the designs sent in by local children.

“Entries are free and should be sent by post to my constituency office before the deadline of Thursday 6th November.

“Imagination is the limit when it comes to designs and the more creative entries are, the better. I find that bold, bright colours work best – although I would ask that designs are created using paint, pens and pencils and do not include 3D elements like cotton wool or glitter.

”The standard of entries is so high each year that picking just one design is always a challenge – and I can’t wait to see this year’s amazing entries.”

Last year’s competition saw hundreds of entries into Mr Wood’s annual Christmas Card Competition, with Isla Gaunt from Year 5 at Codsall Middle School winning first place with her nativity scene design.

Isla’s artwork took pride of place on the front of Mr Wood’s card, along with the runner’s up designs displayed elsewhere within the card - which was sent on to over 700 household.

The competition is open to all primary school age children and those who attend a special school in Mr Wood’s constituency of Kingswinford & South Staffordshire.

Pupils should include their full name, age, school year group and school name on the back of their design.

Entries into the competition can be posted or hand-delivered to Mike Wood MP’s Constituency Office, The Cottage, High Street, Wombourne, South Staffordshire, WV5 9DN before the closing date of Thursday 6th November 2025.
