TV favourite brings stand up tour to Stourbridge

Shappi Khorsandi is to bring her latest tour to Stourbridge Town Hall next year.

Shappi, who has appeared on the likes of Live At The Apollo,Michael McIntyre’s Comedy RoadshowFriday Night with Jonathan RossHave I Got News For You and QI, will be at the Market Street venue on Saturday May 5th.

The 44-year-old will be performing 'Mistress and Misfit', her latest show, with tickets on sale now. Alex Jackson, of Dudley Borough Halls, said:

"As well as being a best-selling author and well-known TV face, Shappi is a captivating live performer. We're really excited to welcome this wonderful comedian to Stourbridge Town Hall next year with her latest stand-up show."

Shappi is the best-selling author of A Beginners Guide to Acting English and her debut novel – Nina is not OK – was published last year. Born in Iran, she was recently elected president of the British Humanist Society.

She has also appeared as a panellist on the BBC's Question Time and on Channel 4's The Celebrity Bank Job, where she won nearly £60,000 for her chosen charities. Shappi has also appeared on ITV's Loose Women, filling in for Jamelia on the panel. She left Iran as a child following the Islamic Revolution.
