Two arrested after stolen cars found in Brierley Hill chop shop

Two men are in custody after police recovered stolen cars from an industrial unit in Brierley Hill yesterday morning.

Officers were on patrol in Station Drive at around 4am when they saw two people acting suspiciously by a car. It was quickly flagged up as being stolen and a 29-year-old man was detained at the scene.

The other tried to run off but after a short foot chase a 20-year-old man was also arrested. A search of a nearby industrial unit then found a further three stolen cars, along with vehicle parts which will be further examined.

The men have been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and remain in custody for questioning.

Police are continually urging members of the public to report garages or units they believe could be taking stolen vehicles and stripping them down for spare parts.
