Two arrested and cannabis seized in Walsall

Police have arrested two men in Walsall after being called to a burglary in progress just after midnight yesterday.

Officers arrived within minutes of the call to Lord Street in Palfrey along with the Dog Unit. Armed police officers were also deployed after weapons including machetes were seen as the intruders made off.

PD Snow located a 26-year-old man in Milton Street, before going on to track a second 30-year-old hiding in bushes. Both remain in custody on suspicion of burglary and possession of cannabis.

Over 40 plants were found in the property on Lord Street, which have now been removed and destroyed. A force spokesperson said:

"We are determined to tackle issues which you tell us are a problem in your area. Many crimes are related to drug cultivation and drug dealing, so if you suspect it’s happening in your area, let us know or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
