Two men have been arrested after police were called to reports of a stabbing at an address on Clancey Way in Cradley, shortly before 6am.
A man in his 40s was taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries.
The pair arrested, aged 50 and 37, remain in police custody being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder.
A spokesperson said: "Our investigation is at an early stage, but it is believed those involved are known to each other, and we are treating this as an isolated incident."
Officers will be remaining in the area today offering reassurance to residents and carrying out further enquiries.
