Two charged in connection with Sandwell death

An investigation has been launched after a man who was found with serious head injuries in Sandwell on Saturday 8th June has since passed away. 

Police were called to a property in Yardley Close, Oldbury just before 1am and found seriously injured Amjad Khan. The Handsworth man was taken to hospital, but died on Thursday 13th June. The 32-year-old’s family are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.

Derek Brennan, aged 31, from the Smethwick area and Daman Sehra, aged 22, of no fixed address, have been charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody until their next court appearance. Detective Chief Inspector Gill Davenport, from force CID team, said:

“We are treating this as a targeted attack and are working tirelessly to understand the motive and circumstances surrounding it and have arrested and charged two people in connection with this attack.

"I’d still like to hear from anyone who has information relating to this or was in the vicinity of Yardley Close between midnight and 1am on Saturday 8 June to get in touch."
