Two charged with shop theft offences in Walsall

Police in Walsall have have charged two men with multiple shop thefts in the town centre.

Ross Phillips, aged 31, from Walsall, was remanded to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday for a first hearing.

Phillips was charged with 10 shop theft offences between 14 January and 3 April this year.

Stuart Shepherd, aged 48, from Dudley, was also remanded to appear at the same court yesterday. He was also charged with five shop theft offences between 18 March and 3 April.

They were arrested by officers from St Matthew’s neighbourhood team on Monday.

Combatting shop thefts is a priority at Walsall LPA and we launched Op Marigold in a bid to tackle shoplifting across the Walsall borough.
