Police arrested two men and seized blades and suspected drugs after stopping a car in Tipton at the weekend.
Acting on information about suspicious activity in Central Drive, Lower Gornal, officers tracked a vehicle, with support from the National Police Air Support helicopter, before bringing it to a stop in Watery Lane, Tipton.
On searching the vehicle, firearms officers recovered a small axe and two knives along with a quantity of prescription drugs and suspected class A drugs.
Two men, aged 37 and 38, who were in the vehicle were detained on suspicion of possessing offensive weapons and class A drugs.
The 37-year-old, who was also arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified and dangerous driving, remains in police custody.
The other man has been released on police bail as investigations continue.
