Two Teenagers Arrested For Murder Following Netherton Death

The males were detained on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead at a house in Netherton.

The men, both aged 18, were detained by police at a property in Dudley just before 9:30 last night. The man's body was found at a property on Cradley Road 12 hours earlier.

Police have also revealed that the 41-year-old victim, named locally as Simon Johnson, is yet to be formally identified - although his family have been informed.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene after officers were called to Cradley Road by the ambulance service at around 9.40am yesterday.

Parts of Cradley Road and Bodmin Road were cordoned off while forensic officers examined the scene. Specialist officers are supporting the victim’s family and a forensic post-mortem is due to take place today.

Detective Inspector Warren Hines, from West Midlands Police’s Homicide Team, is leading the murder inquiry and continues to appeal for information. He said: "

We are still piecing together the circumstances of this man’s death and members of the local community could play a part in helping us to do that.

"If you saw anything − regardless of how insignificant you think it may be - and have not yet spoken to us, I would ask you to give me a call."

Anyone with information should call DI Hines on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
