Upcoming musical events at Sandwell Libraries

Sandwell Libraries are pleased to announce a series of upcoming musical performances which take place in the run-up to Christmas and are available to see in person or via live-stream at a number of venues.

Sheila Waterfield will be performing her unique blend of jazz, folk, soul, latin and blues at Central LIbrary on Friday 29th October at 7:30pm. Whilst West Bromwich-born Val Wiseman, who joined the West Side Jazz Band at 18, will be joined by renowned jazz saxophonist and former surgeon Art Themen when she performs on Friday 26th November, also at Central Library from 7:30pm.

Birmingham’s Roy Forbes started singing jazz in the 1980s and was a full-time professional musician until his daughter was born in 2000 when he took on day jobs to support his family. He will play at Wednesbury Library on 9th December.

The performances will be advertised and streamed live into a number of venues, including The Bulls Head on Bishopsgate Street in Birmingham and several retirement villages.

Tickets are free but due to limited spaces it is advised that you book in advance by calling the Central Library on 0121 569 4904, or by emailing central_library@sandwell.gov.uk.
