A leading manufacturer of custom school badges is set to expand its product range following a £12,000 investment from Walsall Business Support.

Based in Aldridge, Walsall, School Badges UK specialises in the design, manufacture, and supply of high-quality custom badges and related items for the education sector.

The £12,000 investment will allow the company to purchase an industrial twin head embroidery machine, enabling them to expand into branded school uniforms, leavers hoodies, and sports kits to meet growing demand from schools and clubs nationwide.

Employing 19 highly skilled full-time staff, the business has experienced steady organic growth due to its commitment to quality craftsmanship and exceptional customer service.

The investment in the new embroidery machine is expected to create additional job opportunities in areas such as production, sales, customer service, and logistics, contributing to local employment and economic growth in Walsall.

Formed by leading local business figures to distribute funds collected from the legacy of Walsall Chamber of Commerce, Walsall Business Support provides grants to applicants who want funding for projects to enhance business life in the borough.

School Badges UK sales director Tom Wagstaff said: "We are thrilled to receive funding from Walsall Business Support. The £12,000 investment for a new industrial embroidery machine will help us expand our product range and services while maintaining our reputation for excellence in the educational apparel sector.

"The business is deeply committed to serving educational institutions across the UK. We have a highly skilled team who take pride in delivering premium quality products.”

Walsall Business Support board member John Murray added: "We're delighted to support School Badges UK with a grant to facilitate their growth into new markets. Their growth plans align perfectly with our mission to generate economic growth and create employment opportunities within the borough of Walsall."

Walsall Business Support also provided Cavaletti, a supplier of affordable, riding saddles to the equestrian industry with a £8,000 donation.
The funding has enabled the business to install a new mezzanine floor which will increase storage capacity by 50% and allow the business to expand their stock range and grow the business.

Cavaletti managing director Julie Hayward said: “The funding from Walsall Business Support has meant that we can grow the business, including the recruitment of two new members of staff to support our warehouse and customer service operations.

"The additional capacity has allowed us to grow our stock holding and support our growth plans.”
