Woman dies after collision in Sandwell

A woman has died from her injuries sustained in a road traffic collision in Oldbury.

Two passing ambulances came across the incident on Wolverhampton Road, Oldbury, at 6.31am yesterday morning when a bystander reported to crews that a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a vehicle.

The woman, aged in her 60s, was taken to hospital but has since died. West Midlands Police said their thoughts and support are with her loved ones.

A 31-year-old man who was previously detained on suspicion of drug driving has now been further arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
