A woman has been hit with a £300 fine after rubbish dumped on a country lane in the borough was traced back to her.
Street cleansing officers searching through rubbish dumped on Foxcote Lane in Cradley found personal mail. It was addressed to a woman from Cradley Heath, who has paid a £300 fixed penalty notice for the offence.
Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: “We have been having real problems with high levels of illegal flytipping in Foxcote Lane.
“It is a popular through route for dog walkers and ramblers and we can understand people’s frustrations seeing it continually happening.
“We are going through the rubbish with a fine-toothed comb to try and identify the perpetrators, and this case is an example where we have managed to pin it down to someone and issued them with a sizeable fine.
“We are also looking at improving CCTV along that route and our message is clear – if you are dumping rubbish on Foxcote Lane, we will catch you and make you pay.”
Flytipping can be reported online at MyDudley or by calling Dudley Council Plus on 0300 555 2345.
