A woman who threw away more than £1,000 by accident, got her money back after staff at Oldbury tip searched through rubbish to find it for her.

The woman had put the money with bags of rubbish after decorating her baby’s bedroom, before taking the bags to the recycling centre.

When she realised what she’d done, she went back to the tip, where, after three hours of searching, staff found the money at the bottom of a skip, tied up with a rubber band.

The woman, who didn't want to be named, took the staff biscuits and samosas to thank them for their efforts.
