Zoo Host A Spooktacular Screening

For the first time ever, the attraction is hosting a spooktacular after hours event, as they transform the 11th century Dudley Castle courtyard into an open-air cinema.

On Saturday 6th August, the zoo are teaming up with 'Flatpack: Assemble' for Dudley Castle After Dark, a one-off screening of the classic 1935 spine-chilling horror film, Bride of Frankenstein. Zoo Manager, Matt Lewis, said:

“We’re really excited to be involved in this event, especially with it being a film that involved one of Dudley’s most famous residents.

“Dudley Castle is reportedly one of the most haunted sites in the UK, so where better to host this iconic movie and you never know, there may be a few extra guests who put in appearance, with over 400 ghosts allegedly across the whole castle grounds and zoo site.”

Doors open at 8pm, with the PG-rated picture preceded by a short horror film made by Dudley College students. Guests are advised the event will go ahead whatever the weather, so dress accordingly and feel free to bring your own blankets and chairs and refreshments.

Tickets are priced at £10 (£8 for concessions) and are available in advance online, by calling the zoo on 01384 215313, or in person in the Safari Shop. Cash only tickets will also be available to purchase on the door.

The event forms part of Flatpack: Assemble’s Black Country Pop-up Film Tour, which runs throughout the summer.
