The family of a grandmother found fatally injured near Bristol say they "remain in complete shock" after a man was charged with her murder.
Annette Bishop, 71, was found with serious injuries at an address in Sherbourne Avenue, Bradley Stoke, last week.
Police were called to the property at around 2pm on 9 October, but Ms Bishop was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gerald Bishop, of the same address, has been charged with her murder.
The 73-year-old will go on trial at Bristol Crown Court on 5 April next year.
In a statement released by Avon and Somerset Police, Ms Bishop's two children thanked the force and the emergency services, and said: "We are also deeply grateful to all her friends and family for their overwhelming love and support."
The statement continued: "We remain in complete shock after losing our mother in such tragic circumstances.
"Our mother was taken from us far too soon. She had many years ahead of her - time that should have been spent creating memories with her children, grandchildren, friends, and family.
"She will be forever missed, and the void she leaves behind can never be filled.
"At this time, we respectfully ask for privacy as we continue to grieve and process this heartbreaking loss."
