The 36-year-old is still being held in police custody as the investigation continues.

He is due to appear at Plymouth Magistrates' Court on Monday.

"A heightened police presence will remain in the area in the coming days.

"We understand this incident has caused concern within the local community, and I would encourage any members of the public with concerns to contact us."

Police asked for any relevant information, images or footage to be reported to them.
