Police find 290 cannabis plants worth £174,000 in Glasgow raid

Police in Scotland have discovered a cannabis farm worth around £174,000.

Officers seized 290 plants from a property on Clarkston Street, Glasgow, on May 27 after "responding to intelligence", according to Police Scotland.

A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged with drug offences.

He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, police said.

Sergeant David Dinnen said: "This is a significant recovery which highlights our ongoing efforts to rid our communities of dangerous and illegal drugs.

"Drugs cause nothing but misery, and we will use every tool and tactic at our disposal to bring those involved in their supply to justice.

"Information from the public is crucial, and anyone with information or concerns about drugs should contact police."

Police added that "inquiries remain ongoing".
