A second man has been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy in Northampton.

Khadeem Parris was fatally stabbed in the Abington area of the town on 7 July.

His family said he was "such a kind son" and was "ready and excited to be starting college in August".

Now Samwari Solomon, 20, has been charged with his murder.

Solomon, of Coalhall Avenue, Motherwell, Scotland, appeared before Northampton Magistrates' Court on Saturday, police said, and was remanded into custody.

Another man, Fuad Mohamud, of no fixed address, was previously charged with murdering Parris.

He appeared before the court on 14 July and was also remanded into custody.

A 19-year-old man, a 56-year-old man, and a 51-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender remain on bail pending further inquiries, police said.
